AICE.scot is Scotland’s national community of educators, leaders, researchers and innovators working together ethically and with integrity to safeguard learning, teaching and assessment in the age of AI.

Our Aims
AICE.scot aims to be the coordination point for AI in Education in Scotland.
AICE.scot will strive to facilitate connections and build partnerships across the educational landscape
AICE.scot will work with partners to ensure that professional learning is available, visible and fit for purpose
AICE.Scot values education as human-centred first and foremost.
What AICE.scot is not:
A group for digital-only educators.
- This is an education-first, technology-second network which needs practitioners from all areas of education in Scotland to bring about meaningful impact.
A group promoting all things AI.
- AI is all around us, intertwined with life in general. The aim of the group is to navigate this new world through the education lens ensuring that the opportunities that AI brings are explored alongside the dangers. There are no experts, just learners!
A group to negatively disrupt the education system.
- The hint is in the title. This is a ‘collaborative’. It is about working together professionally, ensuring values such as trust, respect and integrity are always at the forefront of everything we do. It is about working together as a network, with partners and with decision-making authorities to ensure that this powerful phenomenon is harnessed for good.
A group designed to promote all educational technology
- “Beware of EdTech’s bearing gifts”. There will be engagement with EdTech’s but this group will not be funded by them. The organisation will be run with the social mission at its core. EdTech’s will not have any influence on policy or direction.
AICE.scot is designed to support the whole profession move forward together and navigate the world of Scottish education in this new age of modern Artificial Intelligence. The importance of working collaboratively, the acknowledgement that there are no real experts in the field of AI in Education, and the realisation that this introduction of AI is bigger than anything we have previously faced cannot be underestimated.
To all our members, thank you for being part of this important community.
